Scan Dash Jumping Tricks
Retro added the ability to lock onto enemies and dash sideways to aid players in battle, but were
un-prepared when players started to use this feature to unexpected effects. Dashing sideways off of a ledge
would allow Samus to travel great distances as the momentum gained was abused to throw Samus across the screen
at great speed. It was then discovered that you could use the Scan visor to do the same thing (which was purely
unintentional by Retro as they removed this from EVERY other version of MP afterwards).
Dash Jumping (via Scan Visor or Combat Lock-on) is probably one of the most used skills in an MP players repitoire.
It's now a basic move that can be applied throughout the game to some amazing effects. Below you will learn how
not only dash jump, but also control your movements in the air to allow you to position yourself better
for landing.
