Released in 2002, Metroid Fusion was a slight depature from the well-known (and - indeed - loved) formula of Metroid games past.
The more linear design (you can't really explore at your own leisure as much as you could've in previous games),
has lead to some backlashing from Metroid devotees. And certainly, MF lacks a little
"something" that the rest of the games in the series has had. With your "on board guidence system" forcing you along a predertermined path,
the ability to change the flow and order of the game is much more restricted than in the past.
