The Official SCU Raffle
Just straight out asking for donations is a bit brazen. Sure, I pour a lot of personal time and finances into keeping this
site and it's forum as good as they are, but I do so because I have a passion for what I do. But with finances
being the way they are, and bills being as real as they are, a little bit of help is needed. So welcome to the SCU raffle where in return for your
financial generosity, I will say thankyou by giving the the chance to win a rare or exclusive Metroid prize.
Why? Well everyone likes a good incentive to do something. And while your supporting your favourite Metroid site
financially, the moral feel-good factor is added onto the fact you could walk away with something really
cool for a fraction of what it would cost on eBay (assuming you can even find this stuff there). And even if
your name isn't drawn, then you can still walk away with that warm glow inside of you, knowing that you've
helped keep SCU on it's feet by helping to cover it's server costs.
The SCU raffle will work like so: I will announce new raffles on the main page of SCU and they will all have a
timeframe on them. All donations of 2GBP($3.50) or above will be tracked in PayPal and the donators will
have their names written down and then come the hour before the draw, the names of all those who donated
up to that point will placed into a physical hat-type thing. I will then video-record the draw and upload it to the site so
people can not only laugh at my silly accent, but also see who the winner is and see that I have drawn it
fairly.
If you donate more than 2GBP($3.50), then for each extra 2GBP you donate, I'll add your name an extra time. So
the more you donate, the greater your chances of winning!
ALL donations after this draw will automatically be entered into the next raffle which will be announced straight
after the previous one. There will probably be a new raffle every 2 weeks in the lead up to christmas. It's that
simple really. And remember, if you're not in it, you can't win it!
I can't really do much for those who don't have a PayPal account unless someone can come up with a viable solution
for those people (as I can't currently think of one). If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me
using the link right to your left of this text.
And just in case you're wondering where the paypal donation button is, it's on the right hand side of this site
just below the SoS "Buy now" button.
