Scan Visor Dash Jumps

Please Note!: This dash jump can ONLY be performed on the Original US release version of Metroid Prime! The later released Players Choice edition and the PAL/Japanese versions of MP have had this trick REMOVED COMPLETELY!

If you use your scan visor to lock onto an object you can dash sideways just as if you were using a Combat Visor Locked onto an enemy. However, you have the choice of using ANY of the Yellow or Red scan points in the game to launch yourself sideways from. By pressing Left or Right and TAPPING B, Samus will shoot sideways in the direction you pressed. If you release L straight after the dash starts, you will gain even more speed and sideways momentum! If you press B for too long (instead of very lightly and quickly tapping it), you will kill most of the speed and momentum.

This trick was discovered to allow the Space Jump First trick and it has been applied to MANY other tricks throughout. You can see it in action in the movie below...
