Metroid Techniques - Door Jumping
This technique can be a bit awkwards at times to pull off successfully, but it has some excellent sequence
breaks contributed to it's use (as well as being essential for entering the games various
Secret Worlds). To perform this open a door and quickly edge towards it until Samus is just
in front of the door (without entering it). The door should close and Samus should be half in and half outside
the door.
Now, you are in a position to door jump upwards or downwards. To door jump upwards, you need to make the screen
scroll downwards (so you're pushed upwards). To do this, start pressing up then down repeatedly on the d-pad
and Samus should start to move upwards. Once you've cleared the door, keep doing this and eventually Samus will reach the top
of the screen. Now press jump a few times to push the screen down far enough to allow you to restart the
up-down movements on the d-pad again. As soon as you've reached the door you want to enter above you, walk
right and you'll be in front of the door!
To door jump downwards, you need to do the same as above and make the door close around Samus, and then instead
of jumping once at the top of the screen, keep using the d-pad. Samus will wrap around the screen and appear at
the bottom of the screen (pushing the screen upwards).
