The Shinespark

"The Shinespark" was introduced in SM and has been used in Fusion and now M:ZM. A name was only officially given to the technique in Fusion in the games "Secret" conversation. It's a move that allows Samus to get through the blocks with the arrows on them. M:ZM takes the move one step further by allowing you to do the move while in morphball mode as well.

.:How To:.
Fusion Veterans will feel right at home again, as you can once again recharge the shinespark by hitting a slope when running or in morphball form and hitting down to carry on moving/carry on the shinespark charge.

.:Regular Shinespark:.
The regular shinespark is performed by building up enough speed over a distance. The ground doesn't have to be perfectly flat, as long as the run in uninterrupted. Once you start flashing, press down to charge the shinespark. You now only have a few seconds before you lose this charge.

So you can either press jump and use the shinespark to dash left, right, straight up, up-left or up-right, OR you can recharge it by shinesparking into a slant in the ground and pressing down again (essential for MANY pick-up puzzles). The best way to do it correctly is to press jump then just a split second later the direction you want to dash in. Unlike in SM, shinesparking in M:ZM doesn't waste any energy. Which is handy.

.:Morphball Shinespark:. *** REQUIRES Hi-Jump Boots! ***

This is essentially the same as the regular shinespark in that you need the same distance to cover to charge up the shinespark. But this move allows Samus to get through speedbooster blocks that are only one block high. To perform this move, charge a shinespark, then press down twice to morph. Press jump and as you see Samus charge, press the direction in which you want Samus to Shinespark (same choices as regular Shinespark). Voila!
