Super Metroid Speed Runs

Below are the direct links to the best run for each category. The movies are brilliantly hosted on Archive.org so you should all pay this wonderful free site a visit. Special thanks also go to both Nate of Metroid2002.com and also to Radix of Speed Demo Archive (SDA) for converting the runs from VHS to a digital format. ALL of these movies requires the latest version of DivX to play properly.

.:Any% Run - 36 Minutes By Smokey:.
Skill personified. That's the best phrase to sum up Smokey's ability at Super Metroid speed running. This multi-segement speed run is chock-a-block full of crazy tricks and extremely impressive sequence breaks. His wall-jumping skills are a joy to watch and the whole run just reeks of quality. Watch one of the greatest games in the series gets smashed to pieces before your very eyes. Nice work Smokey... VERY nice work indeed...

.:100% Run - 55 Minutes by Red Scarlet:.
An absolutely beautiful run from the Mochball-Master herself. I lost track how many times my jaw hit the floor upon witnessing the crazy new tricks. Watch as every glitch is used and abused to full effect. Half of the tricks on show seem to defy human responses, yet they're all done for real on the cart... If you don't enjoy watching this run, you're obviously braindead. A VERY VERY well done to Red Scarlet.

.:Low% Run (14%) - 1:18 By Smokey:.
Once again Metroid fans show their determination to go against the developers intentions, and the result is the lowest % possible for finishing Super Metroid. Run by the uber-talented SM player Smokey, this run is well worth watching to see sequence breaking at some of its very finest.

.:No Boss/Mini-Boss (NBMB) Run - 72% By Red Scarlet:.
The purpose of a NBMB run in Super Metroid is to get as many items as possible after getting bombs, without ever fighting another boss or mini-boss. Length taken to do this isn't of concern as many items require the extensive abuse of various glitches. Some of which can take a while to do fully.
