From: Andrew Mills | Posted: 12/1/2003 1:11:48 AM | Message Detail Hello again people! Just at the very end of V2.0 of this topic we have been placed on a cliffhanger of a situation. The Pizza Boy suggested getting the Boost Ball without the Morphball in an attempt to find out if a no-morphball we're looking at to skip another percentage (which has been worked on for the last few months now by everyone in the SW topic) is going to be worth all the extra effort to make Burndome load correctly without the Morphball. Will we be able to get the morphball functions without collecting the morphball itself??? Find out after I get back from work... I am in a 'sw' using moonjump, but the next room does not seem to load ;p I tried several tries like openning the door first then jumping to the 'sw'..tried openning from within...but the next room does not seem to load. Any help? like am I missing something? do I just keep shooting? o_O --- "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" From: TRH 0313 | Posted: 12/1/2003 3:54:51 AM | Message Detail how on earth would it be possible to skip morph ball? how would you get to flaahgra without it? --- SA2B: 171/180 Emblems, SMS: 120/120 shines, LoZ:WW: Done everything!, MP: 100%/100% (duh..), SSBM: 290/290 trophies BtT: Who cares? Best tactic is to land ON the top of the door and shoot it then. This has a tendancy to make the rooms load better and stay loaded. It's not perfect, but it's the most reliable re-entry method yet after using a cut-scene. So: Land on the top of the door, shoot it, then watch the next room load. TRY and make the previous room dissapear (making the new room go completetly black around it) if it's a big one otherwise it WILL crash (perfect example being moving between Chozo Main Plaza - SW9 - and Ruined Fountain Access). I'll make some movies of this over the next day or two... Andrew "MP SW Monkey" Mills --- www.samus.co.uk The Greatest Metroid Site Around now looks even BETTER! From: Tzyr | Posted: 12/1/2003 4:12:45 AM | Message Detail actually, the only room I am interested in now is the elevator from magmoor workstation to thardus. Cause I know you wanted to wait till you were done work (not sure if you are home yet or not) but I could try to beat thardus..that would be simple. A 'sw' in the elevator room. A cut scene to get you back in the room...and if you beat thardus, you get spider which puts you in morph. So yeah, there is an invisible ceiling in the morph ball room..but you can get out of the elevator..so if I can just do that that is only one room then thardus. --- "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" From: Andrew Mills | Posted: 12/1/2003 4:16:10 AM | Message Detail TRH 0313 | How on earth would it be possible to skip morph ball? how would you get to flaahgra without it? Well, the current theory is that by collecting the morphball bombs (starting you off again in morphball form) that you will be "given" the morphball function itself but seeing as you never actually collected it you knock another percent off. However we're having problems with opening burndome while in a SW (i.e. Outside the realms of the level itself), not to mention all the possible - negative - outcomes doing this could mean. So after work today, I'll get the boost ball without Morphball to see what will happen with bombs before morphball as they start off in the same scenario: Pre-morphed without ball. Will the game lock? Will we be unable to unmoprh? Will we have one morph only? Or will it work like a charm? Find out in about 6 1/2 hours time... From: Tzyr | Posted: 12/1/2003 4:23:50 AM | Message Detail Best tactic is to land ON the top of the door and shoot it then hmmm..you used the sw in the elevator? cause you are like 100 feet above the door (unless you just mean you have to be above the door)...thing is, you do not get a good shot unless you are more into the void, or into the room (so shoot either side). So yeah, I tried shooting the door, then jump out of the room..but that did not work. I tried shooting the door as soon as I was 'out'..but nothing happened. I tried shooting the back of the door when I was in the 'sw'..but no such luck I can long onto something (Which I can only assume is the bombus..but I cannot see it or do anything other then lock onto it..so yeah, not sure what to do ;p --- "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" From: Andrew Mills | Posted: 12/1/2003 4:32:15 AM | Message Detail @ Tzyr: Try this: Use the Ar code for Wavebeam and Ice beam at the start. Go to Magmoor via Root Cave. Go to Magmoor Workstation save/lift, get BEHIND thardus go around via the research labs negating the need for ANY morphball and then go get boostball from Ice Ruins West. VOILA! Results... Let me know how you get on... Andrew "MP SW Idea Monkey" Mills --- www.samus.co.uk The Greatest Metroid Site Around now looks even BETTER! Go to Magmoor Workstation save/lift, get BEHIND thardus go around via the research labs negating the need for ANY morphball and then go get boostball from Ice Ruins West. Well, I am already in the magmoor workstation save without morph. Easy to get to ;p I have sj, moonjump, wave/ice/plasma and infinite missiles. The elevator to phendrana is blocked by just that morph ball tunnel thing you boost through with those bombus'..then it is thardus. But, the next room just does not seem to want to load ;p I cannot go the other way for a couple reasons. 1 is you need morph to get to the ice door..silly, but then again, you are s uppose to get up there with spider..so yeah heh The second is if I do manage to get past it, I cannot get past the hydra force field. Last, there is another boost morph ball tunnel thing before thardus..but if I could get there I would just go for boost. But yeah, the hydra forcefield would be in the way. So if you have been in the SW in the elevator before thardus, any tips to make it load? I will try what you said, but nothing happened before..who knows, myabe I just have to be stuborn about it.. (oh I wanted to beat thardus anyway to test out my missile strat..but if it will be like ridley, he will be much easier on hard...lol) --- "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"
